Silk was born in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. She was the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actress and director. She was also a playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama in St. Thomas University. Anna recalls some of the first moments in her life when she went to see her mother during play rehearsals. Silk was featured in many commercials as an infant. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Arts at St. Thomas University in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas was engaged in two productions in the theater's early days that included Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk relocated to Toronto for her acting to improve in November of 1999. In the following decade, she relocated into Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman is her future spouse, whom she was introduced to at a workshop in Los Angeles at an Actors training workshop in 2007. They were married in the civil ceremony on the 10th of December 2009 after they became engaged. They renewed their vows April 10th, 2011 in Fredericton following the wedding, when the bride converted to Judaism.
