Lita Rossana Ford, also known as Lita Ford, is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She was the lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and rebellious lyrics got them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. It was not possible for the band to be an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity in other countries particularly Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in heavy metal. In 1995 she debuted "Black" and fifteen years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. In 2016, she released her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
