Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actor, singer and music producer. Raised by her mother throughout the USA she was subject to many racial slurs that made her feel being unwanted. When she went to a school competition and received great praise for her performance at the age of 9, the girl began to gain confidence. The experience not only increased the confidence of her, but altered the direction of her professional career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from Julliard School in New York. When she was 23, she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. The biggest achievement of her career was when she played The Lady of The Lake on Spamalot's original Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to get the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by the critics. In the following year she was cast in the role of Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. She is also a known singer and has published an extended version of her play. Also, she's been a vocal advocate for LGBT concerns.
